Certification important for clients

Sharpe Engineering has earned a reputation for excellence since opening its doors nearly two decades ago. The company’s hard work has been recognised by the American Petroleum Institute with one of its highest certifications, the API Spec Q1.

API Spec Q1 defines a superior Quality Management System applicable to all activities performed by Sharpe Engineering.

AJ Lucas Group has worked with Sharpe for approximately eight years and understands the importance of API certification.

Lucas chief operating officer Brett Tredinnick says that in the coal seam gas sector the certification is particularly important, and makes him feel more confident doing business with a company.

“API certification is a significant achievement,” Tredinnick says.

“It proves a company has a very robust quality management system in place and, therefore, its customers can have absolute confidence that the products it supplies are of the highest standard.”

It is those standards that Sharpe chief executive Peter Sharpe has driven the company towards throughout the years.

“We have always provided the best drilling-related products and services for the resources sector, but this certification lets the industry know we are an absolute standout for excellence,” Sharpe says.

“Being API certified gives our clients and any future customers peace of mind because they know Sharpe is a company they can count on.”

While the certification is important for Lucas, the company has always had good results from its work with Sharpe – both from products and service.

“The SFJ thread has never let us down,” Tredinnick says.

“Sharpe has always delivered on time.”

The API certification is a major feather in Sharpe’s cap, which boasts the most certifications and certificates of any company in the sector in Australia. Sharpe is also the only company on the east coast with Q1 certification as well as product certification for the scope of their activities.

“There is a reason we’ve earned the reputation we have in this field, and the API certification is recognition of that,” Sharpe says.
