Management Team

Sharpe’s management team have a combined experience of +100 years in the resource and energy sectors. Below are the profiles of some of the key personnel at Sharpe.

  • Peter, or Sharpey as he is commonly known, started the original partnership of Sharpe Engineering with his wife Anne in October 1995. Prior to establishing Sharpe, Peter had worked in many fields including an initial apprenticeship in the railway industry prior to progressing to employment as a fitter and turner in the mining, abattoirs and general industries. Sharpey then joined the oil field industry working on the rigs before setting up a machine shop in Malaysia implementing his passion for quality across that business. Immediately prior to establishing the partnership of Sharpe Engineering in Roma, Peter rotated out of Colombia where he worked for Enterra International as a machine shop manager and that position was preceded by the position of Manager of Enterra Quality Drilling Tools, in Singapore. Today, despite the title of CEO, Peter is still hands-on in the workshop, has overall control of QA and plays an instrumental role in the training and up-skilling of all employees.
  • Anne is a founding director of Sharpe Engineering. Having lived, worked and brought-up children internationally, The Sharpe Family settled in Roma in 1995. Anne has successfully integrated her children into the business and plays a pivotal role in the management of board meetings and the company’s strategic planning. Anne’s current role is Company Secretary and Director of Sharpe Engineering.

  • Mark (Streety) is Chief Operating Officer across the Sharpe Engineering Group and Company Director. Mark commenced with Sharpe Engineering in February, 1997 as the Workshop Foreman and has progressed through the ranks to become a very valued Chief Operations Officer and bringing a wealth of experience from his background as a machinist in WA. Mark spearheads our operations and production teams and is responsible for the day-to-day management of the business.

  • Ellen has been an integral member of the family business since 2003. Currently Ellen’s role as Chief Financial Officer is key to the decision making process of Sharpe’s management team enabling sustainable growth of the company.

  • Exposed to the industry his entire life, it was no surprise to anyone when Jon completed his fitting and turning apprenticeship with Boral and chose to pursue a career in the family business in 2009. Jon’s passion for innovation and understanding of the industry has fast become a great asset to Sharpe. Jon manages  Brisbane operations in Zillmere and also sits on the board of Sharpe.

  • Based in Brisbane, Mark has been a key member of the Sharpe team since he joined in 2011. With a trade background and experience in the mining and resources industry, Mark draws on his management experience to manage our clients needs and aims to exceed expectation in delivery to our mixed range of clients including operators, drilling contractors, service providers and oilfield rental companies. More recently Mark has been instrumental in securing long-term contracts and service agreements with key CSG operators and clients. Mark also sits on the board of Sharpe.

  • Liz is Brisbane based and responsible for administering and coordinating the Information, Technology, and Communications systems within the Group.  

  • Since 2010, Alexa has been an essential part of Sharpe’s HR team responsibilities - recruitment and training of staff including continued professional development and TAFE training for Sharpe employees.  Now in her role as Sharpe’s Compensation and Benefits Officer, Alexa is responsible for payroll, superannuation, workcover claims, etc.

  • Alan joined the team in 2017 and has brought with him the right combination of experience in our industry, positive attitude, and leadership qualities that will go a long way to improving efficiencies in the workshops and in the Production Team’s Office.

  • Scott joined the Sharpe team as Completions Service Manager in early 2015. In previous roles working direct with CSG operators - Scott brings a background in field operations, safety culture and a ‘hands-on’ approach to oilfield equipment servicing.

  • Jack is originally from Roma and joined the Sharpe team to undertake a machinist apprenticeship in 2004. Having completed his trade qualification - Jack progressed his career with Sharpe assisting with supervision, training and production. In recent years Jack decided to move to Brisbane where he is currently employed our Production Manager at Virginia.

  • Samantha started at Sharpe in 2000 as a part-time office administration assistant and worked hard to become our Quality Manager.  She took a 5 year hiatus and sea-change to broaden her skills, knowledge and experience before returning to Roma, and to Sharpe, in 2016 and taking on her current role as Estimating, Quoting and Scheduling Coordinator.  In her role, Samantha supports the Chief Operating Officer, leading the coordination team in correspondence with clients, estimating, quoting and scheduling of jobs.
