Working from our Roma, QLD facility, you will be responsible for undertaking the instructions of the workshop Manager and supporting your co-workers with any tasks/duties required in the workshop.

This includes loading, operating and monitoring machines, tools and equipment to maintain and repair mechanical plant and equipment to operational standards, using hand tools to perform operational maintenance of machines, performing routine sharpening of production tools and cutters as well as measuring components for compliance to given specifications.

The successful candidate will be mechanically minded, diligent and not afraid to get their hands dirty. You will enjoy learning new skills daily to become part of a fantastic team.

Sharpe® in conjunction with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) will provide all training required for this position.

What we’ll be looking for in you

• Completed year 10 (as a minimum), year 12 preferred
• A genuine interest in a machining career
• Motivated with a willingness to learn
• Punctual, hardworking and reliable, paying particular attention to quality and cleanliness
• Excellent communication skills
• Good time management skills
• Able to show initiative
• Able to work as part of a strong team
• Handwriting skills and a reasonable level of Math and English
• Drivers licence and own transport (preferred)
