New 8-Tonne Crane

Sharpe Engineering has installed a new overhead crane into its Virginia workshop effectively doubling that facilities lift capacity.

Spanning 26 metres, the crane has a lift capacity of 8 tonnes and will significantly improve the workflow of the 2,300 square metre workshop.

Sharpe purchased the crane second hand and modified, reconditioned and re-certified it in-house.

The new crane joins an existing 20 tonne crane already in operation.

The Virginia workshop manufactures a wide range of products on its state-of-the-art equipment and the crane is being used to move product and equipment safely and quickly around the work area.

The Virginia workshop opened in February 2018 and has become an integral part of Sharpe Engineering’s growing capacity.
