WHO WE ARE
Knowledge that spans decades — energy through the next generation
Family-owned and operated, we are proud of our history and the people who have shaped our company over the decades.
Our company is 100% family-owned and operated. Backed by our strong family values, we are proud of our history and the people who have shaped our company over the decades.
Today, our Leadership Team is a mix of family and non-family members who work tirelessly to ensure the ongoing expansion and integration of best practices and technologies to maintain quality across each of our facilities. The management culture they exhibit is approachable and inclusive, whereby each individual from the office through to the factory floor is not only welcomed, but valued.
OUR LEADERSHIP
The Sharpe® minds and diverse perspectives behind our company:
When Ellen joined Sharpe® in 2003, she quickly came to learn every aspect of the business. Holding various roles in finance and business administration, she took on the role of CAO from Anne Sharpe in 2020 and has since guided Sharpe® through growth, a restructure, and expansion into new markets.
Well-versed in manufacturing dynamics and strategic leadership, Ellen has a deep understanding of the challenges and key aspects that drive growth in our industry. She is passionate about family business and the Australian Manufacturing Industry.
In 2021, Ellen took over as CEO from her father, Peter Sharpe, coinciding with 20 years of service. She looks forward furthering the Sharpe® legacy as it transitions into a 2nd generation family business and is committed to driving its success.
Exposed to the industry his entire life, it was a natural progression when Jon completed his Fitting and Turning Apprenticeship with Boral and chose to join the family business in 2009. Jon’s passion for innovation and his knowledge of the manufacturing and resources landscape fast became a great asset to Sharpe® and our Clients.
Jon played a pivotal role in our expansion, establishing the first of our Brisbane operations in Zillmere, and then Virginia. He now oversees operations across each of our three Brisbane facilities and also sits on the Sharpe® Board.
Mark, fondly known as “Streety,” joined Sharpe® in 1997 as Workshop Foreman in Roma. Right-hand man to founder Peter Sharpe, he rose to become a very valued Company Director and remains a respected leader at Sharpe® and in the wider Roma community.
Coming to Sharpe® with a background as a machinist, Mark brought invaluable expertise to his role. Today Mark leads our Roma operations and oversees the day-to-day management of the business with remarkable dedication.
Alexa leads Sharpe®’s People and Culture strategies with over a decade of experience in recruitment, training, and employee development. Her engineering background enriches her approach to fostering a supportive workplace culture.
Today, her commitment to nurturing young talent through our respected Apprenticeship Program, and fostering a vibrant organisational Culture of Care, has elevated Sharpe® as an employer of choice.
In his 10 years at Sharpe®, Cillian has been instrumental in expanding our engineering capabilities and R&D product design initiatives to meet the evolving manufacturing and equipment servicing requirements of our clients.
With extensive experience across both European and Australian engineering sectors spanning upstream and downstream Oil & Gas, Mining, Defence, Infrastructure, and Renewable Energy, Cillian brings both technical expertise and a deep understanding of the needs of clients in these industries. Combining engineering principles with a strong commercial acumen, this allows Cillian to lead our Business Development Team in managing our diverse customer base, sales strategy, tender management and contract negotiations.
Cillian’s leadership is key to driving client diversification not just within our traditional oil, gas and resource sectors but also developing manufacturing opportunities in new markets that will continue to deliver sustainable company growth.
He has always maintained a ‘customer-first’ approach to doing business, and today is highly regarded by our clients for his commitment to traveling far and wide to provide hands-on support and service tailored to their project needs.
Andrew began his career in public practice, gaining experience in accounting and auditing across industries before moving into manufacturing.
