PROUDLY MADE IN AUSTRALIA
An innovative solution to tubing back off, enhancing safety and reliability
REQUEST A QUOTE Related ResourcesThere is a reason our TorqStopper® is the Oil and Gas Industry’s leading torque anchor.
Made in Australia by Sharpe®, its robust design is a proven and innovating solution to tubing back-off that increases production and reduces downtime of an operating well.
The TorqStopper® addresses the torque issue using a simple door mechanism that wedges the pump against the lower side of wellbore casing providing maximum stability against vibration and the effects of pump torque. Clients benefit from significant savings through reductions in downtime, and lower operational and maintenance costs compared to similar tools. With minimal maintenance requirements and the ability to be serviced in the field, our TorqStopper® has become the preferred torque anchoring tool for onshore Australian CSG wells.
Developed by Sharpe® the TorqStopper® is available in three models to address the individual needs of our clients drilling operations.
Advantages
An innovative solution to tubing back-off, the Sharpe® TX Series TorqStopper® is the Oil and Gas Industry’s leading torque anchor.
- Greater annular space for superior gas breakout
- Maximum stability against vibration and the effects of pump torque
- Open bypass area allows solids and coiled tubing to easily pass the tool
- Easily field serviceable, reducing maintenance costs
- Range of sizes with stock readily available, plus custom design options
Advantages
Operating similarly to our single blade TX series, the Centralised TorqStopper (CTX) incorporates a single hinged door mechanism and two centralising fins equally spaced around the circumference of the tool, achieving centralisation in the casing.
Commonly run with higher torque PCP pumps needing to remain centralised, the CTX provides the following advantages:
- Stabilising the string, lowerering vibration and torsional oscillation
- Reduces wear by centering pump, minimising contact and abrasion
- Improved axial and radial alignment, reducing shaft bending, wear and vibration
- Better performance in deviated and horizontal wells by maintaining centerline, reducing side loading and improving reliability
- A stabilised system improves diagnostics with consistent torque, current, and pressure surface signatures
Advantages
Sharpe® has combined two proven tools—the TorqStopper® and a Pump-Out Plug—into one streamlined, innovative downhole solution. This single tool anchors the PCP tubing string while providing a shearable plug at a nominated pressure, with configurable top and bottom pin or box connections to suit production tubing.
- One tool replaces an anchor and pump-out plug reducing costs, procurement and inventory management
- Less connections made up on the rig lowers surface downtime and rig costs
- Identical design and performance features of Sharpe® TorqStopper’s, pump out plug and burst tools
- Fully field redressable with a “kit” supplied with door, ceramic disk or plug, and all required O-rings and screws.
- Ceramic disk option — designed in a dome rated to 5000psi barrier and 1500psi burst pressure with the disk and O-rings secured by drive dogs and hex screws
- Pump out plug option — supplied with an aluminium or dissolvable compound disk installed against an internal recess profile inside the tool, secured with brass shear screws or pins
Developed by Sharpe® the TorqStopper® is available in three models to address the individual needs of our clients drilling operations.
As the OEM, Sharpe® can customise the TorqStopper® to suit your specific requirements.
Possible design options include:
- Non-standard connection configurations and sizes
- Incorporating a standard or disolvable pump out plug or ceramic burst disc
- Ability to be run multiple times without servicing
- Gauge cable recess slots
With the TorqStopper® available in a wide range casing/tubing size and configurations, Sharpe® will have you optimising your well design for reduced costs and greater efficiency.
