Trades Assistant

We're looking for a Trades Assistant to join our team. This is a hands-on role in a busy manufacturing facility that is a well respected leader in manufacturing and engineering design.

This hands-on role will report to the Workshop Manager and will be responsible for assisting the tradespersons in performing various tasks/duties in order to ensure effective, efficient and accurate operations.

This includes loading, operating and monitoring machines, tools and equipment to maintain and repair mechanical plant and equipment to operational standards.

Other responsibilities will include, but not be limited, to the following:

  • Complete in an accurate and timely manner all assigned tasks within the workshop in accordance with relevant codes, standards, specifications, drawings, guidelines and company procedures.
  • Work from instructions.
  • Assist Tradespersons in performing various tasks.
  • Work individually under general supervision.
  • Responsible for the quality of own work.
  • Organize packaging for transport.
  • Phosphate material.
  • Lubrication of production machinery and similar equipment.
  • Operate all appropriate materials handling equipment.
  • Operate lifting equipment incidental to their work.
  • Ensure all materials including tools and equipment are available and on hand as required to complete given tasks / projects.
  • Organize and communicate information.
  • Work with others in Labourer jobs to complete complicated tasks on time
  • Carry out cleaning duties as required.
