Fitter

About the role:
This hands-on role will report to the Workshop Manager and be responsible for setting up and carrying out all fitting operations in accordance with drawings and specifications.
Tasks must be completed accurately and on time, adhering to relevant codes, standards, and company procedures. This includes working safely and efficiently from provided instructions, assisting in the assembly and disassembly of equipment, and safely operating materials handling and lifting equipment. It is essential to ensure that all necessary materials, tools, and equipment are readily available for projects. Effective communication and organization of job information with the supervisor are crucial, as is collaboration with team members to meet deadlines. Additional responsibilities include performing cleaning duties, conducting teardown and inspections of parts and equipment, and completing required paperwork as instructed.
What we’ll be looking for in you:
- Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Fitting and/or Machining).
- At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Current forklift ticket, dogging and rigging ticket preferable.
- Ability to strip, visually and dimensionally inspect and diagnose faults in equipment.
- Able to use and read micrometres metric and imperial.
- Basic hydraulics knowledge preferable.
