Fitting and Service Tradesperson

We're looking for a Fitting and Service Tradesperson to join our Roma team! You'll play a crucial role in setting up and carrying out all fitting operations of our manufactured and repaired products. This includes servicing, bucking, hard banding and pressure testing.

Working from our Roma, QLD facility, you will be responsible for setting up and carrying out all fitting operations in accordance with drawings and specifications to ensure the quality of the final manufactured / repaired products and services. This includes but not limited to servicing, bucking, hard banding and pressure testing.

We’re one of the few manufacturers in Australia certified both to ISO 9001 and API Spec Q1, so your role will ensure compliance of our products and process according to our strict quality control measures.

Other responsibilities will include, but not be limited, to the following:

  • Communicate and work with Fitting and Service Manager for the use of equipment.
  • Perform all fitting operations including but not limited to servicing, bucking, hard banding, pressure testing.
  • Maintain, repair, and service workshop equipment such as manual lathes and machines, bucking unit, air compressors, forklifts, and loader when required.
  • Examine detailed drawings or specifications to find out job, material, and equipment requirements.
  • Check accuracy and quality of finished parts, tools or sub-assemblies.
  • Understand and apply quality control technique.
  • Operate all lifting equipment incidental to normal work when holding the appropriate licenses.
  • Work under limited supervision either individually or in a team environment
  • Perform non-trade tasks incidental to normal work.
  • Provide trade guidance and assistance as part of a work team.
  • Inspect products and/or materials for conformity with established operations standards.
  • Assist in the provision of on-the-job training in conjunction with Fitting and Service manager.
  • Ensure the agreed goals and objectives are met in a timely manner.

What we’ll be looking for in you:

  • Certificate III in Engineering-Mechanical trade.
  • Appropriate licences for materials handling equipment and relevant vehicles
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a heavy manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Attention to detail & ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings & follow work instructions.
  • Computer literacy and exposure to quality systems.
  • Ability to work to goals & targets with low supervision.
  • Positive can do attitude and reliable employment history.
