We specialise in the manufacturing, re-certification, repair, and servicing of a broad range of wellhead and pressure control equipment, harnessing advanced manufacturing and design technology to set new standards in design and performance.

Our in-house engineering and design capability allows Sharpe® to custom manufacture products to meet precise client specifications. Our range of API 16A products comes in various sizes to meet diverse needs in the oil and gas industry and we stock an extensive range of common finished product along with API compliant raw material (AA, BB, CC, DD, EE, FF) so products can be made to order as required.

Sharpe® bull plugs are solid pressure-containing closures designed for female-threaded ends or outlet connections, often featuring an internal counter-bore and/or test port. These robust isolation devices are essential for ensuring the integrity and safety of piping systems, conduits, and wellbore tubulars. With our commitment to precision engineering and quality, Sharpe® bull plugs provide reliable performance.

At Sharpe®, we manufacture Valve Removal (VR) Plugs that are precision-engineered to facilitate gate valve removal under pressure. Designed to meet API 6A standard, these threaded plugs can be installed in wellhead outlets to isolate the valve from pressure, allowing for convenient repair or replacement. Our VR Plugs are compatible with all standard API 6A valve sizes, ensuring reliable performance and ease of use during maintenance operations in the oil and gas industry.

Top Connectors are essential for effective surface pressure control in wellhead equipment. Sharpe® Top Connectors are designed to provide a secure mechanical joint with a reliable pressure seal. A prime example is our Tree Caps, which are installed atop the Christmas tree assembly. These Tree Caps are equipped with a pressure gauge mounted on the top plug, allowing precise measurement of well pressure. In addition to pressure monitoring, Tree Caps offer convenient access to the wellhead for ongoing service and maintenance. Adapter Spools are essential pressure control components designed to connect two pieces of equipment with differing end connections or pressure ratings. Sharpe® design and manufacture adaptor spools to specified lengths, these spools feature various nominal end flanged, studded, threaded, Hub our Union connections to your size and specification, ensuring reliable and consistent performance within your production system.

Additionally, we produce Spacer Spools, which feature an extended body and equal-sized end connections, used to provide seperation between blowout preventers or wellheads and tree equipment.

Common types of adapters are Double Studded Adapters (DSA) Flanged Studded Adapters (FSA) or Adapter Spools (Flange x Flange).

Crucial pressure-containing fittings for the oil and gas industry Tees and Studded Crosses divert, bypass or distribute fluid flow and typically feature three or four connections aligned in a single plane, with two connections forming an in-line run. Sharpe® can also manufacture 5-Way and 6-Way configurations to suit various operational needs. Designed to meet API Spec 6A standard, we provide both studded and flanged options for crosses and tees. These fittings ensure robust, reliable performance in pressure control applications, making them an essential component for managing flow and pressure in complex wellhead systems.

Sharpe® manufactures high-quality Threaded Flanges, including Companion Flanges, designed to transition from flanges of various sizes and pressures to threaded connections. Our API 6A threaded/companion flanges offer a flexible solution for connecting piping systems in oil and gas applications, enabling quick and easy installation or removal without welding. This design ensures a secure, leak-proof fit, enhancing system reliability and reducing maintenance downtime. Ideal for systems that require frequent reconfiguration, such as wellheads and manifold setups, our flanges come in an extensive range of sizes and pressure ratings.

Blind Flanges are flat components in a piping system, with no centre bore, used to fully seal off flanged ends or outlet connections. They play an essential role in closing the end of the pipe to temporarily block the flow of fluids or gases — beneficial when a pipeline needs to be separated from the rest of the system for maintenance, repairs, or other reasons. Test Flanges, similar to a Blind Flange, include a tapped port with relevant bolt holes to facilitate pressure monitoring or gauge attachment. Both flange types play a crucial role in maintaining pressure integrity and ensuring safety in demanding operational environments.

While our flanges are specifically designed for the Oil & Gas Industry, Sharpe® can manufacture flanges to suit a range of industrial applications including; pressure testing, mining, Boilers and geothermal applications.

Blow Out Preventer (BOP) test stumps are used by drilling & workover rigs to pressure and function test their BOPs on site. Sharpe designs and manufactures BOP test stumps to match the size and pressure rating of the BOP being tested.

Sharpe® test stumps come with machined rotary shoulder or tubing connection boxes in the stump body so a range of mandrel sizes can be made up to the stump to enable function testing. A BOP test stump may have base plate, transport skid, side and bottom ports, and fixed or removable Test mandrel retaining threads for multiple size test mandrels as deemed necessary. Test Stumps are designed in accordance with API 6X and client specific requirements.

Drilling Spools are pressure containing products used to provide separation below or between the BOP Stack and associated Drill through equipment. Drilling Spools have flanged or studded outlets that allow connection of the Choke and Kill lines.

Hub and Clamp Connectors provide a more efficient means of connecting together pressure containing and controlling equipment. Clamps have internal angled shoulders used to fasten mating hubs. Hubs are designed for face to face contact upon makeup, in order to achieve this for API 6B ring grooves a special SR ring grooves are employed.

Sharpe® have the capacity to manufacture Tubing Heads for gas wells according to a clients exact design specification, and in a range of types and sizes. These components can be pressure tested on site by Sharpe® ensuring they meet the quality and safety requirements demanded by API 6A and Australian industry standards.

Sharpe® are known for our capability and quality in providing machining services for a wide range of wellhead components including Tubing Hangers. An integral component attached to the top of the wellhead, a Tubing Hanger manufactured by Sharpe® in line with API 6A specification ensures a safe and secure seal during completions. Tubing Hangers can be custom manufactured according to a clients exact design specification, in a range of sizes. These components can be pressure tested on site by Sharpe® in line ensuring they meet the quality and safety requirements demanded by Australian industry standards.

Sharpe® specialise in the machining of Casing Heads that provide reliable support and secure connection to the casing string within the wellhead housing. These components enable the suspension and sealing of the next casing string, feature annular outlets, and provide essential support for the BOP during subsequent drilling phases. Sharpe® machine Casing Heads according to a clients own specification, designed and pressure tested to meet API 6A guidelines.

Sharpe® specialise in the machining of casing hangers that provide reliable support and secure anchoring for casing strings within the wellhead housing. Each casing hanger is installed on top of the casing string to ensure optimal weight distribution and stability. Casing hangers feature a top member that transfers the weight of the casing string to the casing head, while the bottom member centralises the casing string and absorbs any side bending loads from string movement.

Sharpe® manufactures slip type casing hangers that meet API 6A standards, engineered to effectively support and transfer the weight between the casing string and the surface wellhead.
